The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily suspended its online recruitment portal just 48 hours after launch, citing the need to improve functionality and ensure a seamless application process.
The portal, which opened on 14 July, is used for applications into four major paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, CDCFIB Secretary AM Jubril announced that the recruitment portal would be reopened on Monday, 21 July, after optimisation works.
“This pause is necessary to accommodate the high volume of applicants and ensure a transparent, fair recruitment process for all Nigerians,” the statement read.
The board noted that since going live, the portal had recorded multiple technical complaints, including access issues and incomplete field errors. CDCFIB has since issued three updates to address user concerns and is working on enhancements to improve speed, navigation, and reliability.
The Board reiterated its commitment to a credible recruitment exercise that provides equal opportunity to all qualified Nigerians eager to serve the nation through its paramilitary institutions.
