Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has approved the full implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for health workers across the state, with immediate effect.
The approval was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Awka by the Head of Service, Mrs.Theodora Igwegbe.
According to the statement, the new salary structure applies to nurses, nurse anaesthetists, psychiatric nurses, community health workers, medical laboratory technicians and scientists, radiographers, and physiotherapists.
It further noted that the directive extends to all relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and the Local Government Service Commission.
“The Accountant-General of the State and the Accountant-General for Local Government have been directed to ensure immediate execution of this directive. All concerned parties are to ensure strict compliance,” the statement read.
The move marks a major step in improving the welfare of health workers in the state and is expected to enhance service delivery across the sector.
