SeamlessHR, a leading HR and payroll software provider in Africa, has secured an additional $9 million in funding from Helios Digital Ventures and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The investment will support the company’s expansion across English-speaking African countries and enhance its technological infrastructure.

Over the past five years, the company has grown to serve nearly 2,000 businesses, managing HR and payroll for about 300,000 employees in 20 African countries.

SeamlessHR plans to invest in strengthening its technological infrastructure to maintain high service standards while expanding into new markets. A key focus will be integrating Generative AI into its product offerings, enabling businesses to optimise HR processes and decision-making.
Additionally, the company will scale up its Design Partnership Programme, which fosters co-creation with customers to develop tailored solutions.
Beyond improving HR management, SeamlessHR is also targeting financial inclusion for African workers. The company intends to introduce responsible credit products that allow employees to use their job security as collateral. This initiative aims to alleviate financial stress by granting workers access to essential services such as housing, transportation, food, and education.
