Prof. Ado Elected Acting Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA

Professor Aminu Ado has been elected Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State.

His election took place during the university’s 130th special Senate meeting on Monday. Until this appointment, Ado served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

The announcement was made in a statement released in Katsina by Mr. Nasir Abdul, Director of Information and Protocol at FUDMA.

Although Ado was the sole nominee, his candidacy was subjected to a vote, where he secured 92 votes in favour and two against.

He takes over from the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi, whose tenure ends on Monday.

According to Abdul, Prof. Hamisu-Bichi explained during the meeting that the special Senate session was convened to elect an acting Vice-Chancellor pending the appointment of a substantive one.

He emphasised the importance of ensuring continuity in leadership to avoid a vacuum and encouraged full participation of Senate members in the selection process.

Prof Ado hails from Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State. He was born on 13 June 1972 in Kankia LGA.
