The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has encouraged employees and employers across Nigeria to take advantage of its free dispute resolution services as part of activities marking its 50th anniversary celebration.
The Federal Commissioner of the PCC in Anambra State, Mr. Emmanuel Muoka, made the appeal in an interview on Saturday in Awka.
Muoka explained that the Commission, established to promote social justice and administrative fairness, provides free intervention in disputes involving employees and employers in federal, state, and local government institutions, as well as in private companies.
“Many of the cases we handle end with both parties reconciling and embracing each other after amicable settlement,” he said.
He commended the Federal Government for sustaining the Commission’s operations over the decades but called for increased funding to widen access to its services, especially for vulnerable groups.
“More needs to be done to make justice easily accessible. Additional funding will help us raise public awareness and demonstrate that the government truly cares,” he added.
Muoka also invited residents to participate in the Commission’s golden jubilee celebration, which begins on 16 October with a church service at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Awka.
He said the week-long event would offer the public an opportunity to learn more about the PCC’s role in protecting workers’ rights and promoting fair labour practices.
