The Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has reaffirmed its commitment to pressing home its demands over unpaid entitlements and stalled promotions, vowing not to back down from its ongoing strike.
The union’s position was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by its chairman, Mr.Idris Adeniran.
JUSUN dismissed reports that could misrepresent or weaken its industrial action, insisting the strike would remain indefinite.
“We reaffirm our commitment to securing justice and fairness for all JUSUN members, particularly on issues relating to promotions, welfare, and other entitlements, which are reasonable and long overdue. Our struggle will continue until they are addressed by the Osun Chief Judge. That is sacrosanct to all members,” the statement read.
The chapter, after a three-day warning strike, directed members to withdraw their services from 19 September over the unresolved issues.
The strike is also aimed at compelling the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to consider the 2024 and 2025 promotions for its members and to provide training opportunities.
