NSITF and CAC Partner to Boost Compliance with Employee Compensation Scheme

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has partnered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to enhance compliance with the Employees’ Compensation Scheme and improve service delivery across the Nigerian workforce.

At a joint strategic engagement held in Abuja, NSITF’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olúwaṣeun Faleye, announced the collaboration, which aims to streamline the registration process for businesses and encourage the protection of workers through the compensation scheme. He explained that the partnership would make it easier for companies to enrol their employees and ensure prompt compensation in the event of workplace injuries or hazards.

Faleye noted that aligning the two institutions’ data and digital platforms would significantly improve transparency and efficiency. He added that the move would also increase awareness about workers’ rights and employer responsibilities under the Employees’ Compensation Act.

Speaking on behalf of the CAC, the Registrar-General, Mr. Hussaini Magaji, described the partnership as a strategic step towards fostering a more secure and compliant labour environment in Nigeria. He said it would also reinforce the country’s business climate by integrating safety and welfare into the formal economy.

Both agencies reiterated their commitment to worker protection and to building an inclusive economy that supports productivity, safety, and accountability.
