The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has directed all shortlisted candidates in its 2025 recruitment exercise to verify their registered email addresses or risk disqualification from the next stage of the process.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Service said some applicants had been unable to receive recruitment-related messages due to errors in their email submissions. To address this, it has provided a portal where candidates can log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) to confirm their details.
“The Service will only communicate with shortlisted candidates through their registered email addresses,” the NCS stated. “No communication will be conducted via unofficial platforms or social media pages.”
The next stage of the process is a nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT), scheduled between 14 and 21 September 2025. Only candidates with verified emails will receive test access links, login credentials, and further instructions. A mandatory pre-test session will also take place two days before the examination.
The NCS warned applicants against fraudsters demanding payments for recruitment slots, reiterating that the process is free of charge.
The ongoing recruitment exercise is part of broader reforms to modernise the agency’s workforce. Approved by the Federal Government, it commenced on 27 December 2024 with 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.
Of the 573,523 applications received, 286,697 candidates were shortlisted for the current phase.
