Nigeria Customs Service Decorates 66 Promoted Officers at Seme Command

The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) decorated 66 newly promoted senior officers in a ceremony held on Friday at the ECOWAS Joint Border Post, Seme-Krake.

Presiding over the event, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Wale Adenuga, reminded the officers that promotion signifies both an honour and a heightened responsibility.

“Promotion comes with humility. It is not a licence for pride, but a call to greater service,” Adenuga stated. “Carry your junior colleagues along, celebrate with one another, and let us make Seme Area Command the pride of the Service.”

He commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, and his management team for ensuring a fair and transparent promotion process. Adenuga also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to supporting Adeniyi’s core leadership mantra of trade facilitation.

Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Oreyeni Olufemi expressed gratitude to the CGC, the CAC, their colleagues, and families. He pledged that the promoted officers would justify the confidence reposed in them and contribute meaningfully to the Service’s continued success.

The ceremony was attended by heads of sister security agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services, the Port Health Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, and the Anti-Bomb Unit. Family members of the officers were also present.
