Development Commission (NCDC) has cautioned Nigerians to beware of fake job advertisements currently circulating online and across various media, clarifying that it has not commenced any recruitment exercise.
The warning was issued on Friday in Lafia by the Commission’s Executive Director of Corporate Services, Mr. James Uloko, who said the alert became necessary following widespread rumours that the Commission was recruiting new staff.
Uloko explained that the NCDC was still in the process of setting up its organisational framework and had not yet reached the stage of hiring.
“Since the establishment and inauguration of our Board and Management, the Commission has been focused on developing its operational structure and assessing both human and material resource requirements,” he said.
He added that the Commission was engaging with key federal institutions — including the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Federal Character Commission — to conduct a proper needs assessment and obtain necessary waivers and approvals before the recruitment process begins.
Uloko stressed that employment would only commence after completing these steps and once the Commission’s budget receives approval from the National Assembly.
“Any claims of ongoing recruitment are entirely false,” he stated firmly.
He further advised members of the public to disregard such fraudulent announcements and remain cautious of scammers using fake websites or job portals to defraud unsuspecting applicants.
Uloko assured that when the recruitment exercise officially begins, it will be publicly announced and conducted transparently and fairly, in line with due process and the supervision of relevant government agencies.
