NAHCON Restructures Workforce, Reposts Officers to Boost Efficiency

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has carried out a minor restructuring of its workforce aimed at eliminating redundancy and repositioning the Commission for more effective service delivery.

The decision was taken during the Board’s 14th sitting held in Abuja between 26 and 27 August 2025, with letters of reposting issued to affected officers on 4 September.

Speaking in Abuja on Friday, NAHCON’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Hajiya Fatima Usara, said the Commission’s executive arm directed the immediate reposting of pool officers back to their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

She explained that the move was designed to strengthen efficiency and motivate staff towards higher performance.

“The Board’s decision was taken primarily to eliminate redundancy and reposition the Commission for enhanced effective and efficient service delivery,” Usara stated.

She added that, in support of the reforms, the Board also approved the promotion of deserving officers and capacity-building programmes for the workforce, equipping staff with the necessary skills to achieve the Commission’s goals.

According to her, NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, has assured that the 5th Board remains committed to building a resilient workforce dedicated to serving Nigerian pilgrims.

“Similarly, NAHCON will continue to introduce other reforms for enhanced productivity,” Usara said.
