Military Pensions Board Clears Air on 2024 Gratuities: Are Retirees Being Misled?

The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has denied allegations of non-payment of gratuities and Security Debarment Allowance (SDA) to military retirees, dismissing a planned protest by the Coalition of Concerned Veterans (CCV) as based on misinformation.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the MPB’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Ahmed Mohammed, confirmed that all retirees from the 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2024 have received their gratuity payments in full.

“All gratuities due to retired personnel within the specified periods have been settled,” Mohammed stated. “Any contrary claims are unfounded.”

He clarified that the Board’s mandate is limited to payment of pensions and gratuities, and no eligible retiree has been denied entitlements. He urged concerned individuals to seek clarification through official channels.

Mohammed reiterated the MPB’s commitment to the welfare of retired military personnel under the leadership of its Chairman, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Adamu.
