Lagos to Host 2025 Job Fair on September 11, Promises Bigger Opportunities

The Lagos State Government has announced that the 2025 Job Fair will take place on Thursday, 11 September, at the Blue Roof, Lagos State Television, Ikeja.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, is expected to connect thousands of young Lagosians with job and entrepreneurial opportunities across various sectors under the theme “Your Career, Your Way: Explore Endless Possibilities.”

Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, described the initiative as one of the state’s flagship platforms for tackling youth unemployment, in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda on education, technology, and building a 21st-century economy.

Ajigbotafe noted that this year’s fair will feature on-the-spot job interviews and recruitment by top organisations, one-on-one career consultations with industry experts, and a high-level panel session with business leaders exploring strategies for navigating today’s evolving job market.

He added that breakout workshops will cover résumé writing, interview coaching, digital product creation, and entrepreneurship. He recalled that the 2024 edition drew more than 3,000 participants, many of whom secured meaningful employment.

“The 2025 Fair will build on these successes by bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, equipping young people with digital competencies, career-readiness skills, and access to employment networks,” he said.

“By fostering strong partnerships between government, the private sector, and multinational organisations, the Job Fair reinforces Lagos State’s position as Nigeria’s hub of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.”

Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Wasiu Adebayo Olayinka, encouraged job seekers, graduates, and professionals to register, assuring that adequate preparations had been made to deliver a successful and impactful event.
