Labour Ministry, EAPEAN Announce 11th National Workshop on Employment Services

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, in partnership with the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN), has announced plans to host the 11th National Annual Workshop for Private Employment Agencies (PEAs) and other employers of labour.

Themed “Shaping the Future of Employment Services: Technology, Rights and Responsible Practices,” the workshop will take place in two locations: Lagos from 7 to 8 October at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, and Port Harcourt from 28 to 29 October at REENS Arena, Eliozu.

Speaking to Anchor News Online, EAPEAN General Secretary, Jide Afolabi, said the workshop would convene key stakeholders across the labour market to explore modern approaches to recruitment, human resource (HR) innovation, ethical employment, and responsible data usage. The discussions, he noted, would focus on how globalisation, technological disruption and demographic shifts are reshaping the world of work.

According to the organisers, the programme aims to deepen understanding of the interplay between technology, HR practice and ethical recruitment, while equipping employment agencies and employers to comply with both national and international labour standards.

Participants will be exposed to emerging innovations in HR technology, digital recruitment platforms, workforce planning and data analysis. The agenda will cover issues such as digital disruption in HR and recruitment, workforce analytics for strategic decision-making, collective bargaining rights, and building resilient HR systems in the gig economy.

Expected participants include licensed and aspiring private employment agencies, HR professionals, recruitment firms, technology and innovation experts, employers, unions, policymakers, labour migration specialists, consultants and researchers.

Registration fees have been set at ₦150,000 per participant for non-EAPEAN members and ₦140,000 for EAPEAN members, ministries, departments and agencies. Interested participants may register online via https://forms.gle/CrxqxyQzcHSRnwR8 or contact the EAPEAN secretariat on 0704 536 5854 or 0803 525 0801.
