Kwara State Polytechnic has concluded a two-day training workshop for its non-teaching staff, aimed at deepening knowledge of public service ethics, discipline, and academic confidentiality.
Held in Ilorin, the training was organised in collaboration with Strategic Global Concept to foster professionalism and integrity within the institution.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Rector, Mr. Abdul Muhammed, who was represented by the Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr. (Mrs) Felicia Awolola, urged participants to integrate the knowledge gained into their daily responsibilities, both within and outside the institution.
He emphasised the importance of being proactive and driving positive change in the academic environment, while maintaining strict confidentiality in their roles.
In his keynote address, the Acting Registrar, Mr. Abdulhafis Amin, described ethics and discipline as foundational to effective public service delivery. “These principles promote accountability, trust, and good governance. They are vital for efficient and effective service delivery,” he said.
Amin further encouraged staff to remain committed to ethical standards, noting that such dedication enhances the work environment and strengthens the institution’s public reputation.
The workshop featured interactive sessions and presentations by experienced academics and industry professionals. Participants were equipped with practical tools for addressing ethical dilemmas and ensuring confidentiality in their professional conduct.
