The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) empowered over 29,000 Nigerians with various skills in 2024 through its skills intervention programmes, the organisation has revealed.
The Director-General of ITF, Dr. Afiz Ogun, made the disclosure on Saturday in Jos at the Fund’s 2024 Performance Review Meeting and Merit Award Ceremony.
Dr. Ogun highlighted the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) initiative as a transformative programme by the Federal Government aimed at upskilling, licensing, and empowering five million Nigerians annually.
He explained that the initiative is designed to equip artisans with globally relevant skills, thereby enhancing employability and fostering economic development.
“The SUPA programme reflects the government’s commitment to improving the standard of living and driving inclusive economic growth,” Ogun said.
The awards were presented to the best performing ITF area offices in various categories, including training activities and revenue generation.
The Abeokuta Area Office in Ogun State was recognised as the overall best in training and as the best performing office in 2024.
