FRSC’s Oyedeji Bows Out After 35 Years, Applauds Kogi Government’s Support

The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Samuel Oyedeji, has retired after 35 years of distinguished service.

Speaking at his valedictory ceremony in Lokoja, Oyedeji expressed gratitude to the Kogi State Government and security agencies for their unwavering support during his tenure. He particularly commended Governor Ahmed Ododo and his administration for their cooperation, which contributed to his successful service in the state.

“It has been a privilege and a divine opportunity to serve for 35 years and retire in good health, peace, and joy. My career has been immensely rewarding, and I have learnt invaluable lessons from my colleagues, friends, family, and counterparts in other security agencies. These experiences will undoubtedly guide me in the next phase of my life,” Oyedeji stated.

Reflecting on his career, he recalled that he was enlisted into the corps on 14 May 1991 as an Assistant Route Commander (ARC) and rose through the ranks to attain the position of Corps Commander.

He also expressed appreciation to his family, especially his wife and children, for their patience, support, and understanding throughout his numerous transfers across different states.

Addressing FRSC personnel, Oyedeji urged them to remain committed to their duties as a mark of honour to both God and the government.

“Change can be difficult, but it is essential for growth and progress. Embrace change to improve the corps and our nation for future generations. Avoid any actions that could tarnish the reputation of the FRSC and consider your post-service plans carefully,” he advised.

Several stakeholders, in their goodwill messages, praised Oyedeji for his dedication, humility, and service to the corps, offering prayers for his future endeavours.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by the State Security Adviser, Air Commodore Jerry Omodara (Retd); the Chairman of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Sule Eruwa; and other dignitaries. Representatives from all security agencies in the state were also present at the occasion.
