‘From Learners to Leaders’: Jatau Rallies Nasarawa Youths for Skills Revolution

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has encouraged youths to embrace skill acquisition to achieve self-reliance and improve their standard of living.

He gave the advice during a courtesy visit by the Bassa District Youth Progressive Forum to his office on Thursday in Lafia.

Dr Jatau noted that equipping young people with practical skills would not only help them become self-sufficient but also enable them to create jobs for others.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy and urged continued public support for the administration.

The Speaker also expressed appreciation to his constituents for consistently voting for him. “If you hadn’t voted for me, I wouldn’t be Speaker today. I remain grateful,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the Garaku-Bassa Road would be completed before Governor Sule’s term ends in 2027, noting its importance in easing transportation and boosting agriculture.

Dr. Jatau assured the group that the police post in Bassa would be upgraded to a Divisional Police Outpost. He also urged the youth and residents to maintain peace and harmony.

Earlier, Mr. Agila Abashi, Chairman of the Bassa District Youth Progressive Forum, praised the Speaker for his developmental strides, especially in education, health, water, employment, and empowerment. He called for continued infrastructural support, including road construction, police upgrades, and the deployment of corps members.
