The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to addressing all outstanding labour-related issues and has called on unions to remain confident in its ongoing efforts.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr. Muhammad Dingyadi, gave the assurance on Wednesday in Abuja when he received the leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) during a courtesy visit to his office.
Dingyadi urged JOHESU members to be patient, assuring them that their concerns were receiving the government’s attention. He said the necessary processes had already been initiated to resolve the issues raised.
“I appeal to health workers to always embrace dialogue with the government when addressing critical matters, as dialogue remains the most effective path to finding lasting solutions,” he said.
“I assure you that these issues are being addressed and will be resolved in due course,” he added.
The minister also commended JOHESU for its significant contributions to the country’s health sector and for its continued commitment to the well-being of Nigerians.
In his remarks, the National President of JOHESU, Mr Kabiru Minjibir, expressed appreciation for the minister’s dedication to fostering industrial harmony and his notable efforts in conflict resolution.
Minjibir highlighted several unresolved issues affecting the union, including the adjustment of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and the unpaid seven-month arrears from June to December 2023 related to the CONHESS review.
