The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has directed all federal tertiary institutions that have received recruitment waivers to publicly advertise their job vacancies.
This directive was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the Ministry’s Director of Press, Folasade Boriowo.
Dr. Alausa instructed institutions to place adverts in at least one national daily newspaper, on their websites, and in relevant academic and professional journals to ensure transparency.
“This follows waivers granted to federal tertiary institutions based on their stated manpower needs. The goal is to guarantee a transparent, open, and competitive process that provides equal opportunity for all qualified Nigerians,” he said.
He also reminded institutions to submit their recruitment requirements to the Ministry for review by the Committee on Waiver and Recruitment.
“The Ministry has mechanisms in place to ensure compliance and will impose sanctions on any institution that fails to follow this directive. We remain committed to promoting integrity and fairness in the higher education sector,” the Minister said.
