
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved the promotion and conversion of 2,061 civil servants who participated in the 2024 promotion and conversion exercise.
The Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission (ESCSC), Robinson Odo, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Enugu.
Odo confirmed that the governor had recently given the go-ahead for the implementation of the promotion and conversion of officers from Grade Level 01 to Grade Level 17.
He assured that the commission would promptly execute the directive, commending Governor Mbah for his dedication to workers’ welfare.
“We deeply appreciate the governor’s commitment to civil servants in the state. Despite the numerous developmental projects across various sectors, he has remained steadfast in ensuring prompt salary, pension, and gratuity payments,” Odo stated.
He also praised the governor for approving a new minimum wage of ₦80,000 in 2024, significantly exceeding the national benchmark.
“This gesture underscores his administration’s resolve to prioritise the well-being of workers,” he added.
Odo reaffirmed that state workers would continue to support the government’s policies and initiatives to achieve its developmental goals.
