The Edo State House of Assembly has unveiled a new 15-seater Hiace bus to improve staff welfare and mobility. The bus, acquired by the Assembly Service Commission, is expected to ease transportation challenges and enhance efficiency.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, commended the commission for the initiative and praised staff for creating a supportive working environment for legislators.
“This is a welcome development. We will also renovate the Assembly complex and offices to ensure a conducive workplace for our staff,” he said.
Chairman of the Assembly Service Commission, Mr. Ezehi Igbas, explained that the purchase was a collective decision aimed at boosting staff efficiency.
Majority Leader Jonathan Aigbokhian also lauded the commission’s efforts, urging workers to put the bus to good use. “Such gestures go a long way in lifting staff morale and promoting organisational efficiency,” he noted.
