The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has officially launched its HR Leadership Academy, designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing workplace. The launch took place on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, at CIPM House, Lagos.
CIPM President, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, described the academy as a “historic milestone,” stressing that it would shape the future of people management in Nigeria and beyond.
Vice President, Mrs. Chidinma Obiejesi, said the academy would establish new standards for professional growth. She urged HR leaders to go beyond administration to become “architects of culture and champions of innovation.”
Past presidents Mr. Victor Eburajolo, and Dr Abiola Popoola, also spoke, emphasising the importance of continuous learning and aligning HR practices with organisational goals.
Academy coordinator, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo, outlined the programme’s six pillars, which include workshops, boot camps, global exchange programmes, and adaptive learning models. He stressed the emphasis on practical skills and homegrown solutions tailored to Nigeria’s context.
The academy will also provide research grants, peer-learning platforms, and partnerships with global institutions to strengthen HR capacity in Nigeria.
