CDCFIB Issues Alert Over Fake Paramilitary Recruitment Messages

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a warning to job seekers over the circulation of fraudulent recruitment messages related to Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril, said the attention of the CDCFIB had been drawn to a fake recruitment letter being circulated on social media, purportedly from the Board.

“It is important to inform the general public that while there is Presidential approval for the recruitment of personnel into the four paramilitary services under our jurisdiction, the process has not yet commenced,” Jubril said.

He clarified that several official procedures must be followed before any recruitment exercise can begin and urged the public to remain vigilant.

Jubril cautioned that certain individuals, described as job racketeers, may attempt to exploit unsuspecting job seekers by impersonating recruitment agents.

“These racketeers aim to defraud people of their hard-earned money by posing as authorised recruiters,” he said.

He emphasised that any genuine recruitment exercise would be publicly announced through national newspapers and conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner.

“The process will be fair and transparent, with no payments required at any stage,” Jubril assured.

The CDCFIB oversees recruitment and promotion processes for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
