CAC Promotes Workplace Wellness with Monthly Staff Fitness Exercises

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to the physical and mental well-being of its staff through regular monthly fitness activities.

Registrar-General of the CAC, Hussaini Magaji, made this known on Saturday during the commission’s routine fitness walk held in Abuja.

Magaji explained that the initiative aims to promote teamwork, boost productivity, and foster a healthy workplace culture among staff nationwide.

“We come out every month to reinforce teamwork at the CAC. It’s about building our mental and physical strength to enable us to discharge our duties responsibly,” he said.

He noted that the commission had observed a noticeable improvement in staff performance since the initiative began.

According to him, the monthly exercise is not limited to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja but is observed across all 38 CAC offices nationwide.

“If you visit Lagos and other state offices, you’ll find staff participating in the same exercise,” he added.

Magaji also encouraged other government agencies to adopt similar wellness initiatives.

“We’re always setting the pace and we urge other agencies to follow suit,” he said.

He further advised Nigerians to prioritise regular physical activity for better mental and physical health.

“Exercise uplifts the spirit and enhances overall well-being. It’s a key reason for our performance at CAC,” he stated.

Also speaking at the event, Gloria Essien, Chairperson of the CAC Sports Committee, said the initiative aligns with one of the commission’s four-point agenda, which includes capacity building.

She explained that the goal is not only to support professional development but also to improve the physical fitness of staff.

“A healthy workforce builds a resilient organisation. It’s not about strenuous exercise but simple routines that prevent illness and boost morale,” she said.

Essien urged other government agencies and the wider public to adopt wellness practices to create healthier, more productive work environments.

The monthly fitness activity has become an established tradition at the CAC, fostering teamwork, unity, and a strong culture of well-being within the public service.
