
The Katsina State Government has approved the promotion of 3,147 teachers and other personnel under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, reinforcing its commitment to staff welfare and service delivery.
The announcement was made during a senior management meeting held in Katsina on Tuesday. Hajiya Ummukhair Ahmed-Bawa, speaking on behalf of the Director of Administration and Supply, Alhaji Salisu Yakubu, confirmed the development.
She noted that the exercise aligns with the directive of Governor Dikko Umar Radda to commence the promotion process promptly and transparently.
This promotion exercise is a reflection of the state government’s dedication to rewarding diligence, enhancing career progression, and strengthening the education sector in Katsina. According to Ahmed-Bawa, 78 staff members will be promoted from Grade Level 07 to 08. Additionally, 560 will move from Level 08 to 09, 484 from Level 09 to 10, and 587 from Level 10 to 12. Furthermore, 627 personnel will be promoted from Level 12 to 13, 436 from Level 13 to 14, 276 from Level 14 to 15, and 98 from Level 15 to 16.
Ahmed-Bawa emphasised that the ministry remains focused on improving teacher welfare and education quality across the state.
