The Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area in Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Hunpe, has approved the re-engagement of 146 casual workers as part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and enhance efficiency across key departments of the council.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Badagry, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. Augustine Kriko, said the initiative forms part of the council’s ongoing performance-driven reforms aimed at boosting productivity, accountability, and operational efficiency.
Mr. Hunpe explained that about 90 per cent of the re-engaged personnel are essential workers who will be deployed to critical sectors such as primary healthcare, security, environmental management, and sanitation services. He noted that the redeployment would help address manpower shortages and improve service delivery in the affected areas.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a motivated and results-oriented workforce. He urged the reabsorbed employees to justify the confidence reposed in them through renewed dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty.
