Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has honoured 82 long-serving employees with gift items and cash awards at its 2025 Long Service Award Ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Okomu community, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State. The ceremony, held during the week, celebrated staff who have served for 15, 20, and 25 years, recognising their loyalty, dedication, and contributions to the company’s growth.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, Dr. Graham Hefer, said the awards were intended to appreciate the workers’ years of commitment and to inspire others. He noted that the honourees had played vital roles in sustaining the company’s progress, adding that employee recognition remained a core part of Okomu Oil’s corporate culture.

The recipients received various household items, including king-sized beds, wardrobes, dining sets, upholstered chairs, generators, and 32-inch television sets. They also received cash gifts in appreciation of their long service.

Dr. Hefer praised the awardees, saying, “The staff who have been rewarded today have given back part of their contributions to this company. They have shown loyalty and commitment over the years, and we are privileged to have people who have worked with us for as long as 25 years. The company is happy to celebrate them, and we encourage others to emulate their example.”

The Chairman of the Workers’ Union, Comrade Ewansiha Clifford, commended the management for acknowledging employees who had served diligently, describing the gesture as a major morale booster.

“I want to thank the management for rewarding employees who have served the company meritoriously. To the awardees, I say congratulations. It is not an easy journey, but your patience has paid off,” he said.

One of the 25-year award recipients, Mrs. Joyce Eroje, expressed gratitude to the management, noting that she received “king and queen-size beds, a wardrobe, and a set of living room chairs.” She said her 25 years with the company had been filled with learning and professional growth.

“I have looked forward to this day, and I am extremely grateful to the company and its management. Over the years, the company has trained and equipped us with skills that can help us run a company of our own,” she said.

The management emphasised that the long service award ceremony remains one of Okomu Oil’s enduring traditions for celebrating employees who demonstrate commitment and align with the company’s values and vision.
