Jobberman Hosts Lagos Career Fair to Link Young Creatives to Jobs and Skills

By Deborah Bodunde

Jobberman has reaffirmed its commitment to connecting young Nigerians to employment opportunities in the country’s expanding creative economy, which it values at $4.7 billion.

At the 2025 Lagos Career Fair held at Daystar Christian Centre, Ikeja, the organisation brought together more than 1,600 young people, employers, and government officials in a bid to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.

The event, organised in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, focused on equipping job seekers with relevant skills and linking them directly to employers recruiting in real time.

Throughout the day, participants attended masterclasses, informal discussions, and panel sessions where industry experts outlined the realities of working in fields such as design, entertainment, digital media, and production.

Job seekers also queued for on-the-spot interviews in a dedicated recruitment zone, where more than 90 companies screened candidates. Some attendees secured job offers before the fair concluded.

Mr. Olamide Adeyeye, Country Head of Programmes at Jobberman Nigeria, said the fair was designed to support young creatives who often struggle to enter the sector despite rising demand for talent. He said the organisation aims to connect young people to jobs, mentorship, and the skills required for sustainable careers.

“Nigeria’s creative economy is already a $4.7bn sector and growing rapidly, but many young creatives still face barriers to entry. This fair was designed to change that,” he said.

Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, said the state government considers young creatives a key part of its long-term workforce and economic strategy. He added that Lagos is committed to creating an enabling environment where young people can develop their skills and compete globally.

For many attendees, the fair provided practical entry points into the workforce: direct access to recruiters, exposure to hiring processes, guidance from professionals, and opportunities to build networks that could shape their careers.

Jobberman said it plans to continue rolling out programmes that link young people to jobs, digital skills, creative-industry training, and mentorship, with the ultimate aim of helping more Nigerians turn their creativity into stable careers.
