The Kaduna State Head of Service, Mrs. Jummai Bako, has commended Governor Uba Sani for approving and implementing new salary structures for staff of state-owned tertiary institutions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna, Mrs. Bako said the implementation of the Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS) and the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) from October 2025 marked a significant step in improving workers’ welfare and revitalising the education sector.
She noted that staff had already begun receiving their new salary alerts, describing the development as a morale booster that would enhance productivity.
“The entire workforce extends heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for his visionary leadership, responsive governance, and for fulfilling his promise to the academic community,” she said.
According to her, the governor’s decision demonstrates his commitment to constructive engagement and lasting solutions to workers’ welfare issues.
“This bold and compassionate decision reflects the Governor’s integrity, empathy, and dedication to good governance, social justice, and sustained harmony between government and the workforce,” she added.
Bako urged academic staff to reciprocate the gesture through greater dedication to duty and support for ongoing education reforms.
Governor Sani had earlier approved the implementation of 70 per cent of the 2024 CONPCASS and CONTEDISS scales for tertiary institution staff. Union leaders have also lauded his administration for transparency, empathy, and consistent support for workers’ welfare.
