Interswitch Launches PensionRemit to Simplify Compliance for Nigerian Employers

Interswitch, a leading technology company, has launched Interswitch PensionRemit, a fully automated platform designed to simplify pension contribution remittances for Nigerian employers.

In a statement on Monday, the company announced that the platform became operational on 1 June 2025. It is fully compliant with guidelines from the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp).

The platform allows employers to upload contribution schedules, validate Retirement Savings Account Personal Identification Numbers (RSAs) and Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) in real-time, and execute secure payments.

Muyiwa Asagba, Managing Director of Commercial Inclusion at Interswitch Inclusio, emphasised the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for business growth.

“With Interswitch PensionRemit, we are delivering a digital infrastructure that enables employers to meet their pension obligations effortlessly and at no cost,” Asagba stated.

Osasere Atohengbe, Vice President for Sales and Account Management at Interswitch, noted that the platform was developed to address longstanding challenges in the pension remittance process.

Key features of Interswitch PensionRemit include: a streamlined remittance process fully aligned with PCRS guidelines; real-time delivery, tracking, and confirmation of schedules; automated audit trails with instant receipts; zero platform fees for employers; as well as significantly reduced compliance and reporting burdens.

Beyond direct employers, the platform also supports a broader ecosystem, including payroll service providers, HR software vendors, and enterprise resource planning systems, facilitating the seamless integration of pension compliance into existing financial and administrative workflows.
