In a bid to tackle job placement challenges for Nigeria’s growing tech workforce, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Afrovision Technologies Ltd. (Doballi), a Dubai-based AI-powered job-matching platform.

The recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is set to create a sustainable employment pipeline by linking skilled Nigerian professionals with global enterprises seeking remote workers.

Despite Nigeria’s vibrant tech ecosystem, many professionals struggle to secure meaningful employment. This partnership aims to remove those barriers, leveraging the expertise of both NITDA and Doballi to drive digital transformation and economic growth.

As the federal agency responsible for IT development and regulation, NITDA will identify and prepare highly skilled Nigerian tech professionals for the programme. These candidates will then be onboarded onto Doballi’s AI-driven platform, which connects vetted African talent with international employers.

NITDA’s Director-General, Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, highlighted that the collaboration extends beyond job creation.

“It’s about building a sustainable digital job ecosystem while providing crucial social and economic data to inform policy and decision-making,” he said.

The MoU defines clear roles: NITDA will ensure that all candidates meet employable standards, providing a reliable pool of qualified professionals for the Doballi platform. In a show of commitment to accessibility, Doballi has waived its standard $150 assessment fee for all NITDA-sourced candidates.

Doballi’s Country Director, Nneoma Ijei, expressed optimism about the initiative.

“We are confident that this collaboration will unlock numerous remote job opportunities for Nigerian tech talent, fostering economic growth and professional advancement across the nation,” she stated.

As global demand for tech expertise rises, Africa—led by Nigeria—is well-positioned to play a pivotal role.

“With its young, dynamic, and innovative workforce, the continent is poised to redefine the future of technology and global innovation,” Ijei added.

Doballi’s commitment extends beyond job placements. The platform will provide candidates with essential industry knowledge, outlining key areas of expertise and required certifications. It will also offer cross-cultural training to equip Nigerian professionals for international work environments.

Furthermore, Doballi will develop a dedicated dashboard for NITDA to track talent progress, monitor employer feedback, and oversee foreign currency payments and tax implications within the Nigerian banking system. This system will ensure transparency and accountability, reinforcing the long-term success of the initiative.

The partnership between NITDA and Doballi marks a significant step toward unlocking Nigeria’s vast tech potential, bridging the global skills gap, and fostering sustainable economic development. As remote work becomes the norm worldwide, Nigeria is strategically positioning itself to seize these opportunities.
