Judicial Staff in Lagos to Enjoy Week-Long Easter Holiday

The Lagos State Judiciary has approved a one-week holiday for its staff in celebration of the 2025 Easter festivities.

The Acting Chief Registrar, Mr Tajudeen Elias, announced this in Lagos on Sunday.

According to him, the Chief Judge of the state, Mr Kazeem Alogba, has approved the break, which will run from 18th to 25th April. Judicial workers are expected to resume work on 28th April.

Elias assured that arrangements had been made to handle urgent cases during the holiday period.

“Each judge will oversee urgent applications related to cases already assigned to them,” he stated.

“For any urgent application where the substantive case has not been assigned, the matter will be handled by the judge specifically designated for that application.”

He further clarified that Order 49, Rule 4 of the judiciary’s regulations permits judges to hear urgent cases during vacation periods, provided the conditions set out in Order 49, Rule 5, are met.
